Poetry Wednesday: I sleep on

I sleep on

soft cheeks

Love keeps

Our heart.

world stops

skin shifts

shadows

bed sheets fall Deep

lives

lived

Before.

bodies wrap

intertwined

tucked in

tight

crisp air

farewell

string across

the stars.

distance

of desire

light beneath

My fire.

burns smoke

embers red

your head

heavy on

my breast.

now rest

body shakes

sighs shift

you lift

my life

higher.

tears shine

redefine

what does

Love

mean?

impossible

seams

break open to

Reveal

love lives

on

perfection

is gone.

pure energy

shines through

renew

cut through

right

versus wrong.

world stops

our heart

love keeps

soft cheeks

I sleep on

man and woman kiss each other

For You

When I saw you standing there
I couldn’t help myself but stare
All I wanna do is care
For you.

Something in your eyes
Made me realize
That all of these butterflies are
For you.

When I saw your smile
I knew that I would stay awhile
My feelings are all riled up
For you.

Won’t you be my man
I will try to understand
And do the best I can
For you.

You mean so much to me
That all I want for you to see
Is the best me I can be
For you.

When I saw you standing there
I couldn’t help myself but stare
All I wanna do is care
For you.

Widespread Panic at The Tabernacle ATL

yes she has a chicken purse

Julie called me Sunday afternoon with a panicked message to get down to the ATL because she was coming over for widespread panic.  She encouraged me just to come and hang out, and as a lover of lots, I headed out.  And then I secured a ticket to the sold out show because that is how we roll.

And even ten years later, we act like a junk show and have moments where it seems that we must be being filmed at all times because there is no way this stuff happens to real people, yet it does.
